YINING, China, September 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- While the first China-Eurasia Expo has claimed its great potential to become a platform for regional economic development, with contracts worth 185 billion yuan ($29 billion) dealt, more than 55 billion yuan from this figure was contributed by three projects of Yining city. Sitting on the north slope of the Tianshan Mountains, Yining boasts rich resources and an advantageous geographic position at the gateway of the Eurasian Continental Bridge and in the middle of the Central Asian economic zone.
With an industrial zone covering 30 square kilometers, the local government aims to build the city into a regional hub of manufacturing, logistics, trading and information exchange.
The State-level Border Economic Cooperative Zone of Yining ranks in the top five among the 14 border economic zones of its kind in scale and development. It has attracted more than 650 companies to set up offices.
